ansul system wiring

hey everyone ,
I have to wire an ansul system that is prefab already I have the feeds already in the control box my question is how do I wire one 120v and two 220v circuits that are protected by shunt trip breakers(eaton cutler hammer) into the ansul system , and each shunt trip breaker has 2 tails on the shunt side (does one goes to the neutral bar and the other to n.o. in the asul ?

Gil, welcome to the forum! :)

As 480 asked, we need to know, but odds are 120v is suitable. You also need to know whether the shunt-trip opens the trip-coil current pathway when it trips. If the circuit supplying the shunt-trip is one of the shunt-trips, it doesn't matter.

Basically, yes to your question. You tie one of each breaker's wires together and to the neutral bus (or a grounded conductor along with the tripping wire if not supplied by this panel) and the other wire to a microswitch's NO terminal.

The tripping wire should also be in the same cable or conduit as the wire that supplies the microswitch, as should the grounded conductor if other stuff, like lights, contactors, horn/strobes, etc. are fed with the circuit. Wire it like any circuit.

hey guys
thanks for your input is been very helpful. one more thing the building does not have a fire alarm system so I have to put a bell hooked up to the ansul where do I terminate this bell ?( fire alarm bell) should I use 14/2 fire alarm cable ?

What voltage is the bell? If it is 24 or 120 volt I would still use a small relay or definite purpose contactor and have the ansul pick up the contactor and the contactor sound the bell.

The ansul usually has 2 sets of microswitches, one for power and one for fire alarm. Be sure and tape up the tail of the lead from the microswitch you do not use since it will have voltage either before or after the switch is tripped.
