This is where inspecters make there money. Its really pushing things and i dont like it even if gfci protected, but it does look like it might pass.Had it been me i think i would said no and refused to install. Now if they push this i have inspector and engineer taking the charges. We all can see proplem even if nec lets it slide.

Whats not to like?

It only needs to be listed for damp location since it is not subject to shower spray and is within the zone (3") of the tub.

I agree and most of the bathroom fixtures I've seen are so marked.

Sorry for the poor picture quality...

When the pic first came up on the screen I couldn't see the tub so I thought, what's the big deal.

Scroll down to fit screen and holy crap!

Another tub thead.

People sure do like a lot of options while bathing.

A good jolt in the morning is better than a cup of coffee. Less jitters and it keeps you humble.

Are we sure those lights are electric? They look like gas lights to me.

No matter, I am always impressed with any type of fixture or receptacle mounted on a mirror. I can't get a NASCAR sticker straight on one so I am in awe of a person that can cut an accurate hole in a mirror without screwing it up. Cutting glass was not part of our apprenticeship.

Thanks Dennis, to me that sums it up.

There is no NEC volition if these are listed for damp locations.

And they would say 'Why the heck did this client send a picture of a nice bathroom?'

How is it different then a wall sconce on the side of the front door of the house?

The NEC allows it because it is not unsafe if you follow the other rules as well.

What part of that section prohibits wall sconces?

The common sense section.

I am sorry, I did not know you where afraid of this new fangled 'lectricity. :D

I suggest you call the power company and have them disconnect the power to your home ASAP.
