Anyone ever wired a food truck?

They really tried to make the truck look like a cafe or something. The one's we did were the old Ups type vehicles- we called them step vans

Ah yes, the step van, very common for food trucks. Saw one that had maybe a 7.5kva Onan mounted where the passenger seat would go.

Looks nice, but one addition- an eye-bolt over the the CS inlet, used to tie off a strain-relief rope (otherwise, there's a lot of side load on the receptacle and mounting).

There's a lot to be said, mechanically and aesthetically, for a bottom-fed twist-lock inlet. Probably better for water resistance, too.

Or at least a right-angle plug-end on the cord.

Customer balked at price of conduit, so I ran BX throughout.

Where is the Neutral to Ground bond? If connected to a generator, some have the bond and some do not.

I never did a food truck but I've done a few fire engines (which had a portable generator sitting on top and fed receptacles at various points on the sides). I considered the whole thing a wet area.

I kind of like the down-facing inlet but the cost & size are a bit high.

IMNSHO, it should never be in the truck. Shore/ground power will already have it, as will some generators; the ones that don't either shouldn't be used or the bond should be added.
