Do they make an approved handle tie for 3 pole breakers? Told by an Electrician today that he couldn't find any. I've never seen any and never had a need for any.

I believe we have had this discussion and the answer was NO.
What kind of breaker is it?
I find it hard to believe that there aren't 3 pole handle ties made for every breaker considering that they have been required by the NEC for some MWBC's since the 2005 code.
just buy a 3 pole breaker. even some of the approved handle ties are not that good at shutting off both breakers. before that was enforced we used to use a screw and it would work
Handle ties aren't intended to shut off all 2 or 3 poles in the case of a trip, they are to insure all 2 or 3 poles are turned off when it is done manually.
However, I can't find anything in the UL White Book to back this statement up.
I have asked about them at our supplier for GE and they are not available-- at least according to their sources.
My guess is that manufacturers want to sell 3-pole CB's instead of a $2 handle tie.
That's nice. Now if one breaker pole gets weak or goes bad, you're replacing a 3 pole breaker instead of just one single pole.
And how is that bad if you're a manufacturer?

It's bad for the consumer.
That's what happens with most printer color cartridges, too. That's nice. Now if one breaker pole gets weak or goes bad, you're replacing a 3 pole breaker instead of just one single pole.
