Approved handle ties

Handle ties aren't intended to shut off all 2 or 3 poles in the case of a trip, they are to insure all 2 or 3 poles are turned off when it is done manually.

However, I can't find anything in the UL White Book to back this statement up.

Well in the case of the aforementioned QO3HT anyway, it says it quite clearly on the instruction bulletin:

NOTE: Handle tie does not provide common trip protection.
