steve66 Senior Member Location Illinois Occupation Engineer Oct 15, 2008 #3 Can you be more specific about the type of fixture you are dimming? And the type of dimmer? A rheostat shouldn't cause any problems, but IMO a dimmer with a SCR or TRIAC could very easily be mistaken for an arc fault. Steve
