If we are using combo (arc & gfci) breakers. Is there any need to use GFCI recept. on that circuit if one is required? ex. outdoors:confused:
Sometimes I think to much and it hurts.

Cutler hammer made AFCI/GFCI breakers in at least the BR series but I am pretty sure they were not AFCI combo units.

So back to the original question..........:)

It would work for GFCI protection but most likely could not be used for AFCI protection due to it's lack of being a combination type AFCI breaker which is required to be used by the 2005 as well as the 2008 NEC.

Well I installed Murray type that are marked AFCI/GFCI Combination type breaker. They have a yellow indicator that lights up when the breaker trips.

I just spent some time searching. I don't think this exists.

Did it actually say AFCI/GFCI?

There is no such thing as a combination AFCI with GFCI protection. On Siemens/Murray Combo AFCI's there are indicators lights to show what caused the breaker to trip, Arc Fault or Ground Fault. The ground fault protection is in the 30-50ma range and is not Class A (GFCI) protection. You need to add a GFCI device to this circuit.
