So I always thought if a micro was bolted in place it had to be dedicated.
Now I dont think so.....but most do use a good many watts so I always do...
Iwire says most require dedicated circuits in instructions....
Would that not cause us to have to use dedicated circuits for any ul listed load that said that? Just asking.

It should via 110.3(B) but then there is the real world and consumers are not going to hire us every time they buy a new appliance that says 'dedicated circuit' if it works fine when they just plug it in.

Kinda conflicts with the AHJ saying you have to do "something" because the instructions say so dosent it?

Sure but lets be real, it is not going to change unless we have electrical inspectors kicking down doors to bust people using a washing machine on a shared circuit.

I do agree with you and it makes no sense in having dedicated circuits to everything BUT....does seem like a conflict and at times all an inspector can do is to say its required because its listed that way

I do not really follow you, if the equipment is in place at the time of inspection the inspector should enforce 110.3(B).

If the consumer installs the equipment later all bets are off.

What I meant was your comment about most say needs a dedicated circuit...
Say a trash compactor pulls less than 1/2 a circuit, you put the disposal on it also. Amp wise its legal but by instructions needs a dedicated circuit....
I guess Im saying the ahj dosent ask for instructions on all equipment here just when they have a doubt or whatever.. I may not be expressing myselr well sorry,...

If it is there at inspection the inspector should fail it.

That said I have never had an inspector in my area ask to see the instructions, in other areas they do ask.

Also the person you see out at the job is almost never the "AHJ" they are usually just inspectors.
