ARC protection required?

I have a master bedroom that had a "room" connected to it via a 12' wide arched opening. This room is labled as a "4 season room". Looking at the plans, it seems to me that it could be viewed as all being the Master bedroom, and if so, then ARC protection would be required in this "room" also wouldn't it?

Is a 12' wide, arched drywall opening considred a doorway per the NEC? If it is a doorway, then I would say no to the ARC protection in that "room". Thoughts please?
 
Well, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts it is the home owner who gets to decide what a space is ..not much help ,..but if it is on the plans as a sun room here in Mass. then that is what it is.
 
There is nothing in the NEC that defines a room by a door. So if you have a separate area that is called a "4 season room" then it probably isn't a bedroom. The definition of a bedroom has been tossed around many times. Some people feel that any room that has a closet is by default a bedroom even if the plans refer to it as a den or study. Conversly there is no requirement for a bedroom to have a closet.

Another thing to think about is that it is very common for a master bedroom to have a bathroom off of it that is not seperated from the bedroom by a door. In this case you still have 2 separate rooms. Same thing goes for kitchens, very rarely do kitchens get defined by doors. Most of the time a kitchen and a familyroom or dinning room have no visable separation.

But the only person who can decide if the area you are talking about is part of the bedroom is the AHJ.
