We are looking at a medical facility build-out that contains exam and treatment rooms.

The drawings are aprox 80% and the project does not have electrical specifications.

We figured using HCFMC cable.

However, the owner states the facility is an outpatient facility.

My question is whether 517.10 applies and therefore we would not need a separate ground path and could use regular MC cable in the exam and treatment rooms.

Thank you.

Yes, 517.10 applies in all the treatment areas. If there is a generator in the project take note of 517.30(C)(3)(3), flexible wiring methods will not be allowed for the most part when looking at the Emergency Systems.
