Can I install a flat screen tv over a hot tub. cord and plug ? how about hard wired ?

I am guessing that this is an indoor hot tub. Take a look at 680.43(A)(1).

If this is in fact a hydromassage bathtub take a look at 406.8(C).

Yes, in a master bed room suite , Art 680.43a1 does refer to a receptacle,But Can I hard wire this TV ? via: remove the male plug and splice the cord in a flush mount new work box with a grommet and blank plate ? or does this fall under a light fixture scenario ?

You can't just cut off the cord end and hard wire the cord to a j-box. This would not fall under any of the uses permitted for flexible cord in 400.7(A) and would violate 400.8(1).

Also cutting off the cord end would violate the listing of the TV.

So is this a hot tub or a hydromassage bathtub?

Hydomassage bathtub, i guess my question does sound a little hacked. Is there any other alternitives ?

If it is a hydromassage bathtub then the receptacle can't be within or directly over the bathtub space. It can be located next to the space though.

I have come across a unique solution to this problem. If you have a space available usually a closet on the opposite side of the wall where you want the TV you cut into the wall with a perminant glass plate mounted in front of the TV on the hot tub side and an access panel in the closet. This way the TV is not accessable from the hot tub room and is only accessable from the closet taking it out of that room and meeting 680 requirements.

Keep in mind that for a hydromassage bathtub the requirements in 680.43(A) do not apply.

680.70 General.
Hydromassage bathtubs as defined in 680.2 shall comply with Part VII of this article. They shall not be required to comply with other parts of this article.
