A new rule in Article 725 allows circuit integrity cable for critical circuits. Is this cable avaialable and what does it look like?

The VITALink? family of circuit integrity cables employs innovative technology that allows cables to survive and operate during a fire. At the heart of this technology is a unique silicone rubber insulation material that ceramifies and maintains physical & electrical integrity when exposed to flame conditions. The product offshoots of this technology have been designed with practicality in mind. Engineering flexibility & installation ease features have been maximized to allow for market acceptability.

2-Hour Fire ratings on (UL) Types MC, RHW & CI represents industry firsts with respect to qualification to the demanding requirements of (UL) Standard 2196. Critical functions for power, control, lighting and fire alarm circuits can now be counted on to provide "survivability" without compromise.

Re: Art 725 Circuit Integrity Cable

I have a sample in my hand right now. It is very similar to standard cable, except it is thicker and more difficult to pull/manipulate.
Kind of like using #10 for receptacle circuits, it can be done but add more for labor and material. Price per foot for CI cable is MUCH more than standard cable.

Re: Art 725 Circuit Integrity Cable

Thanks. I don't have my ROP and ROC handy, but I would be pretty safe in saying that this ROP and ROC for the CI cable came from VITALink.
I'll use this tommorrow in a class on how usefull the code forum is
