Here is the situation: A Barracks living suite has a 2G box that houses a switch(CKT#1)for a vanity light and a GFCI(CKT#8) at the sink. There is a electricain telling everyone you cannot do this because 210.6(A) states you cannot have 240v between conductors. I don't interrupt it this way and been searching code for anything stating you can't have 2 circuits in the same box. Does anyone have a better explanation?

IMHO, that is not what 210.6(A) states. I beleive the voltage limitation is for (1) OR (2) and is not discssing voltage in the 2G box. I beleive he might be thinking of a similar violation noted in 404.8 (B) (but that is for >300 volts)

Take a volt meter and read from one hot on one device and read one hot from the other device in the same device box, If it exceeds 300V then yes, 404.8(B) and For 210.6(A) is for luminaires in theses occupancies.....Dwelling units, etc.

I agree with Augie and DC, your electrician is not reading 210.6(A) correctly. That section says nothing about two circuits adjacent to each other in the same box. If this were true how could you ever use a MWBC?
