I am confused on how to calculate the demand factor for multiple heat pump systems. The standard calculation refers you to 440.6, which I have to admit is really confusing. I have the option to use 220.30 for 90% of the residences that I wire, but in section (C) do I take part (2) as 100% of the total load? I have seen other calculations that use the largest heat pump first and then use a percentage after that for each additional. The way I read this article is that I would total the heat pump loads and then use a 100% demand factor. Please advise. Thank you
