Maybe they receive traning in not concealing.

When I was doing sats I recieved training in just that,
well, kind of. Someone always neglected to read the fine print on the free instalation pitch. Where fishing walls and a number of other things were not included. Make it look good on the outside was the motto(for some).

Regretfully, good grounding/bonding practices were low on the list, and most installers(including me at the time) didn't fully understand the whys and what fors of bonding.

I doubt they get very much training if any on service installations.

I'm sure we didn't get much training. I'm also sure I'll never let one of those guys in my house.

This tv cable install doesn't look like it was done by the local tv cable company from what I see in the pictures. No rubber boots on the exterior connections to the splitter is one thing. Most of the trained guys working for the cable companys know how to get a good bond to the service or gec also. Maybe it was done by one of those Craigslist sattelite guys.

No it was definitely done by the local cable company; this is pretty much what all of them look like. its actually a city owned utility w/ about 1200 customers (according to them). They have one cable/internet guy who's been doing it for years. The county gives him jail inmates on 'good behavior' work detail for helpers. Usually one maybe two at a time. They do the trenching and running the cables while he makes the connections. Sure your cable may not be bonded to your service properly, but cable starts @ $5.95/mo so its kind of a trade-off I guess. I pay around $25/mo for the 'ultimate' package w/ the HBO's, cinemax, etc.. . i should mention though its all analog and all mono.

That's a pretty good deal there in Quahog. When did you move out of "Jaw-juh?" ;)

So you're northwest of providence too? Maybe you know my neighbor; Glenn Quagmire.

they way the ground loop was explained to me and please feel free to correct me If i am wrong..like I need to give permission..please go easy on me as I am old..is that better hehe..

back to the problem at hand it is when the EGC has less resistance than the GEC does and the return current loops through the EGC at the panel board..that is a bad explaination..I better go back to writing my paper on George Polya..I am focused there..

I know the guy who installed this, as this cable company only has one installer and he's been doing it since they first started offering cable TV, I think. I told the HO there was a slight chance this caused it, but told them there was no way to prove it. Do you guys think it would be inappropriate to go talk to the cable installer about this? He installed the cable on my house along w/ a wireless internet antenna coming into the house on LMR400 coax. Neither of them were grounded to my service so I had to do that myself.

uh I dont think it would be
