Ballast problems with flouescent high bays

I am currently working on a lighting solution for our warehouse and I had planned on using flourescent high/low bay lights. It was brought to my attention that some people were having problems with the ballasts burning out in these fixtures. Is any one else having the same problem?

I haven't heard of any problems with ballasts. But with 6 lamps in each fixture, I think keeping all the lamps working can sometimes be a problem.

From what I recall, the high ceiling collects a lot of heat, creating a high ambient temperature.

With winter heating and natural summer heat, the problem exists year 'round.

For a lensed, 6-lamp, T5HO high-bay fixture the temperature inside of the fixture can get to about 140?F. This can over heat the electronic ballasts, reduce lamp light output, and reduce lamp life.

Make sure the fixture has holes or slots for ventilation and most of this is avoided.
