Re: Baptismal pool

I am far from a religious schooler but it seems Catholics go for the water over the head thing and we Baptists like to stuff you entirely underwater at about 12 or 13 years old.

Many Baptist churches (in this area) have a hidden Baptismal somewhere on the side of the alter for the big dip.

Re: Baptismal pool

I have witnessed hydro-tubs with heaters.

I am still not sure that 680 will apply to this installation withoput being able to align it, without question, with the scope of 680 or the definitions in 680.2.

Is there a specific listing on this equipment by UL or some other NRTL? If there is, then 110.3(b) could be applied.

Re: Baptismal pool

It might be a good idea to just trust God on this one.

If he chooses to take the Baptizer and / or Baptizee home, the GFCI would be of no consequence, and then on the other hand, if there were a fault and he wasn't ready for either party, he would be much more protection than any GFCI would be.

Re: Baptismal pool

Just got done setting up a baptisimal pool. It is 240 volts 6kw it is manufactured by a company from Maine named VULCAN ELECTRIC sent them an e-mail requesting a manual no answer yet.
The procedures we have put into efect is no one allowed in pool with heater in it. No wired or wireless mics allowed in the vicinity of the baptistry. This is our first time operateing it indoors I wired a 30amp dedicated circuit with extra #12 ground as well as a #10 ground 1 splice from panel to disconnect switch to outlet thru 6-4 so cord provideed by manufacturer to the actual heater which just lays in the water on a lip of stainless steel it has a temp switch on it with a power light to let you know when it is circulateing power.
It is manditiory to remove the heater unit from the tank prior to anyone entering.
Procedure for hookup sw off plug in cord attach heater to lip switch on max 1 hour then off then removal.
Baptistry is 6 foot long with water at a depth of 4 foot at 1 end only. Balance of pool is less than 1 foot deep in water.
