What is the largest bare wire you can use according to the code. Crazy question but can't find.

I would guess that since an EGC can be bare there is no limit.

The code only requires up to 800kcm.....but that is for a 6000 amp feeder.

An even that would be not be the maximum permitted. Someone could design a system using even larger bare conductor.

Out of curiosity, where do you get the idea to expect a maximum size bare wire?

...and by size, where do you draw the line between wire and buss-bar? (or simply that wires are flexible and buss-bars aren't? Usually aren't.)
