Yes we do Scott, in more ways than one :D

I agree with Eprice, when I do an inspection, I write the violations, no matter who created them. Who fixes them is not my business.

Yep, maybe we do it a little bit different here :) most of the time when I do an electrical inspection, I am also inspecting one or more other trades as well. The inspection report gets handed to the general contractor. After that, it's between him and the subcontractors as to who gets to fix it. In my terminology, if I'm inspecting something the electrician did, it's part of the electrical inspection :)

Here in Mass we do not have multi purpose inspectors. If it's wiring it's the wiring inspector, plumbing, the plumbing inspector and so on. The electrical inspector does not enforce the building code. If a gc vents a fan and the electrical inspector does not like the way it is done, the building inspector can be notified. The electrical inspector has no jurisdictional authority over this.
