Once you give NFPA your information they will bombard you with emails and junk mail worse than most other places that send me that crap, but what do you do if you want to use much of anything on their website? They send me enough solicitations for NFPA membership, I think they could just about afford to give me free membership if they just saved the cost of sending me the solicitations.
Don't mean to sound condescending, but you need to know the rules where you plan to work, including which version of the NEC applies.

same here... I go in once every two or three weeks and trash everything
Yes I have a hotmail account that I give for such inquiries. But sometimes there is also mail there that is not spam so I still have to sort through the messages to determine what is good and what is junk. If you register for something at a site you may get return correspondence that you are looking for, but same address still goes into their files for sending out future solicitations and such. Same goes for telephone numbers. My home number gets used for phone even with some legitimate parties that I do business with on a regular basis. They can leave me a message if something is important enough and I can call back if I so desire, but depending on who and what they are they may not be getting my cell phone number. If I received as many marketing calls on the cell phone as the home phone receives I would never get anything done if I answered all of them.
