A week or so ago my wife walked into the master bath and switched on the light and the power was cut off for part of the bedroom and the bathroom. The breaker was fine but the GFCI was pretty old so I replaced it but it still it wouldn't reset. I was in the process of having an electrician come out and look at it. Then, yesterday morning, while talking with my wife, the lights just suddenly came on. The GFCI reset and everything seems to be fine. Any idea why the circuit would do something like that? It makes me feel there is still and issue somewhere but for the moment it is okay. Any opinions?
