Right - I think that was back before the allowance to downsize the branch circuit by dialing back the max charge rate was added to the NEC (I don’t recall what year that was changed).
I see people online stating that they are having the Ford 80A EVSEs installed on 60A circuits and setting the hardware limit to 48A.
