How do Gardner Bender, Tyco Electronics and Sta-Kon T&B butt crimps rank next to each other? I see Tyco carried at Home Depot, so I am hoping thats not a DIY quality. Sta-Kon looks to be the best me IMHO, but not sure about GB. What do others think, what are your preferred crimps for those who work with them?

T&B is the best by far, but pricey. GB is DIYer garbage. Not sure about Tyco.

Thats what I was thinking. Never had a problem with T&B in the countless times Ive used it. The few times Ive had to use GB in an emergency, the insulation after crimping always looked like it was microns away from exposing the metal barrel.

T&B (Thomas & Betts) is an old line of terminals, still very good.

Tyco is a connector company that makes LOTS of connectors for electronics. They are also very good, unless HD carries some odd DIY terminal, Google the part number.

3M terminals are also very good. We use a ton of them in our electronics work.

We also use some old stock of Panduit terminals, but I do not know who made them.

Gardner Bender (GB) I have used, but seem thinner than the others both metal and insulation. Not my first choice.

Typically you can see the difference in terminals, i.e. thickness of metal parts and type of plastic (Nylon, Vinyl...) Some plastics are better suited for different applications.

Where do you think Tyco ranks between T&B and GB?

Most everything we use is Panduit and we use a lot of them for halo grounding in our shelters.
