Yes, with the magnet on a string so you can pull it and the bolt up through the sleeve. So you're saying a smaller piece of PVC conduit and put a magnet inside of it and drop it down
Use a fiberglass fish tape instead of string. The magnet will still be attracted to the rigid riser and may have too much friction against the PVC sleeve to 'fall' through it.
In the past, we've used a cattle magnet secured to the end of pvc flex.

I had no idea that cattle were ferrous.
And the other end of the cow points doo south?yup. if you rub a cow against a magnet, you can magnetize the cow.
try it. then when you hang the cow from a string, it'll point north.
that is where the term "moo north" came from.

Just get a good shop vac and shove the hose down the pipe.
Have the magnet through the sleeve before inserting sleeve. Have it just beyond lip so you can push it down when it drags.Use a fiberglass fish tape instead of string. The magnet will still be attracted to the rigid riser and may have too much friction against the PVC sleeve to 'fall' through it.
