Do they have a GC license or is that required?

Nope not required. Only Electric, A/C, and Plumbers need licenced. After a hail storm here we see a lot of aluminum ladders strapped to the top of cars and the guy calls himself a "Roofing Contractor". Every handyman is a GC.

Is the budget price coming from the architect or is it just what the church thinks it will run?

I don't know, we did not meet yesterday. He will be back in a few days and I will quiz him about the budget and OT.

Thanks for the suggestions. One of the 3 middle size jobs that I spoke of was at a fire damaged church (300 seats). The Steeple was hit by lightning and toasted the sanctuary and the classrooms in the basement. I have worked at several churches and I know how they can be.
