S.E. risers are not allowed for service entrance in my area anymore either, but you can still use them to connect to an overhead to an out building, such as feeding a barn...

While you say, "not allowed here either",..... "either" can be left out of the statement. SEU is used for drops all over this part of the country. My point was that I did not go to big blue for consultation, I had a parts list that needed to be filled, not somebody singing the NEC that had no clue what he was talking about when I never even asked him a question.

I see what your saying. The point that I was trying to get across, is that you still need weatherheads for S.E. whether its coming out of a meterbase or not.
