There is a sea lion exhibit at the zoo. It is a medium size man made pond with a performance platform and an ampitheater. The trainers will be in the water for the performances. Is this a swimming pool?

P.S. Reviewed under the 1999 Code.

Re: Bodies of water.

The definition of "Pool" in 680.2 doesn't specify if it's for human swimming. ;) I would also treat Flipper's tank as a pool.

Re: Bodies of water.

Got My old beat up 99' here 680-1 and 4 "Pool As used in this article includes swimming wading and etc".

Re: Bodies of water.

On that note to answer the question "which I failed to do so" Would be YES! That is a swimming pool by that description.

Re: Bodies of water.

The 2005 NEC has new Article 692, Natural and Artifical Bodies of Water, that may be appropiate for your application, even though you are under the 1999 NEC

Re: Bodies of water.

Yes it is a man made pond. The pumps that were used are marked "Not For Swimming Pools."

Re: Bodies of water.
