Bonding above Ground Pools

I may be making too much of this, but I have been reading about bonding (yes I looked at 680.26) and I believe I understand why we would want to bond an inground pool. However, I am wiring a 23ft, 42 inch deep ABOVE ground pool pump and I don't see any reason to do more then ground the pump motor to the panel (GFI). The instructions just say 'bond it to the pool.' Any advice?

All metal parts of the pool frame must be bonded to the pump with a #8 solid copper conductor if the pool is deeper than 42". If your at or below 42" than I agree with Hockeyoligist.

If the pool meets the definition of a "storable pool", no bonding is required at all and the pump is required to be double insulated with the EGC supplied with the circuit serving the pump motor grounding the internal metal parts. See 680.30 for exact requirements.
