Bonding Conductors in a plenum space

I am installing a TMGB (Telecom Main Ground Bar) and am required to bond it to the MDP (Main Distribution Panel). My question is can I install a bare bonding conductor in the plenum space of a drop ceiling? If I use an insulated conductor that is not plenum rated I would have to install it in conduit. I'd appreciate anyone's help on this matter.

Article 800 , specifically part IV , would be worth taking a look at.I would say that this conductor must be insulated.

I am not aware of any code section that would require the bonding jumper to be plenum rated.

Article 800 is exempt from the rest of the NEC unless specifically referenced in chapter 8.

I would be surprised if this is a "plenum". I would think its more along the lines as a enviromental air space. Look at 300.22(c)(1) and see if that helps.

I would look at 800.100 specifically 800.100(A)(1) and 800.100(B)(1).

Is the MDP the service equipment?

I agree that I don't think that 300.22(C) would apply to an individual bonding jumper for a telephone system. But the mechanical code does have a prohibition for installing items that don't meet a specific flame spread and smoke developed index exposed inside of a plenum.

So which section would apply 300.22(C)(1) or 300.22(C)(2)?

Is an individual insulated bonding jumper that is run in accordance with 800.100 a wiring method?

Just curious as to how to look at this.

Chris,
300.22(C)(1) applies and would require that you use one of the wiring methods shown or install the cable in one of the raceways listed in the section.
