I've got it. Mount the receptacles directly to the benches.

Or go the other way, like plastic posts like the Gard-N-Post.

Maybe you can find USB outlets without 120v receptacles.

Or, run only 12v dc to the posts and only install USB ports.

I liked Larry's opinion as usual, but a look at Leviton's models instruction sheets say indoor use only.

Yeah I’m gonna stick with plastic posts and I don’t think we are mounting it on the bench as these are all custom made to look nice.
