I am working on Lightening protection system (NFPA 780) for Flat and Gently slopped buildings. I want to know that whether the cross run conductors and down conductors are directly laid on the building roof or use some insulator. The building roof is of concrete material.

4.10.1 Attached by nails, screws, bolts, or adhesives as necessary, the fasteners shall not be subject to breakage and shall be of the same material as the conductor or of a material
it does not require the conductors to be on insulator
