bonding of fume hoods in labs

Does anyone know of any specific standards defining how to bond fume hoods.

I'm calling for a number 6 to building to nearest grounding electrode.

Will that suffice.

Not aware of any specific standards or requirements, but I see no problem with what you are proposing. Check with the AHJ in the area of the planned install and get his blessing.
