Can someone please tell me how to bond the pool water. In the 2008 code. Article 680.26c requires you to bond the pool water. I understand why they want you to do it. I don't understand how to do it. I have talked to many people and been on other forums. I have gotten answers from code review instructors that say it is going to be the manufactures responsibility to supply a grounding point. I was told if I do anything to the pool I would void the warantee. some have suggested installing a pvc T fitting in the hose laeding to the pump.

My situation: I bought a new pool. 52" above ground. Being a journeyman I plan to do the electrical myself.

Does anybody know how it should be done?

Thats alot of height to look at.
I had a backhoe come out and dig a hole for mine and haul off the dirt, $750.00 total, and had mine just slightly above grade so that I could change the liner and operate the skimmer and pump.
I wrapped the outside walls in black plastic filled it up and backfilled around it.
Used it for over 15 years, kids got older, I took it apart and built a 16x 32' deck over the hole. No more pool to maintain!! yea!
PS. I bonded the metal ribs of the pool to the pump

i was told that if you put a brass fitting on the pool filter and attached the groung wire to this fitting that would ground the water.

I have a part that will work. Came up with a stainless steel plate 3"x 4" with a stainless steel threaded stud attached to it. This fits in the skimmer of the pool below the basket. You drill a hole for the 1/4 inch stud to go through to the outside of skimmer where you can put your bonding lug.
