As manufacturers of pool covers, we have been asked about bonding our deck anchors. Here's the situation:
Safety covers, mesh covers that are placed over a pool in winter, require fastening to brass deck anchors. The anchors are 3/4" diameter and 2" long. They are inserted into concrete decks approx 30" from the water's edge.
An inspector talked to one of our dealers asking whether the brass anchors were bonded. It is our understanding they need not be grounded because of the size, even tho they are within 5 ft. of the water's edge.
Would you have an opinion?
