I am wiring an addition to a church. I am upgrading the service from 200A to 800A single phase. The service will be a 800A ML panelboard with (3)225A CB feeding (3)225A 42 ct panels. This church is out in the boondocks and has no natural gas or sewer service, just a septic system and a water well. The well casing is PVC and the water line coming into the building is 1" plastic. It stubs up in the slab in the old mechanical room and pipes into the pressure tank. PVC runs up from the pressure tank for 3' then "T"s off in copper to hit the water heater. Copper comes out of the WH for 3' then goes back to PVC. All of the cold water is PVC until it gets to toilets, urinals and sinks. The POCO wants a 1/0 ran to the water piping. Am I really required to run a 1/0 to the 3' of copper pipe?
