Box fill calculations

The last sentece in section 314.16 (B) (1) states: A conductor, no part of which leaves the box, shall not be counted. Does this mean that if a conductor is pulled through a box with no slack or loop it doesn't count towards box fill calculations?

don't believe so. it means a conductor such as a "jumper" to power two devices, etc. both ends stay in the box.

If the conductor goes through the box, I would say that it leaves it. At least in two directions.

Even an old dog can learn. I was not aware of the "long loop = 2" rule

If the conductor is pulled through the box, doesn't it therefore leave the box?

What 314.16(B)(1) is talking about is pigtails, jumpers, etc.

That pertains to pigtails. You don't count pigtails in your box fill calcs.
