I would assume they're 14s, but they may be old enough to be 12.

With 17 cables, the 'installer' could have used up every k/o in the 4x4! I still have yet to see that though.

That was supposed to be a joke. Most of the wires are out in free air anyway, the box is just acting as a support for all the connections.

I'd just like to see the guy who did this wiring get a cover on that thing. Obviously, he got tired after installing all those wires in that box to figure on getting any cover on it so he bailed. I just love homeowner wiring! Wire nuts and electrical tape seem to be the norm out here when you don't have a box to put them in! LOL! (I'm talking about HO installations and not my own) ((Obviously))

Installing a cover on that box is easy if you've got the right equipment. One of these should do the job nicely.
