I can see I'm going to have to take a bunch more pics in the old mill for you guys. I can think of at least a dozen locations that are this bad or worse  .

It's amazing how people can take plain ole romex, wirenuts and steel boxes and turn them into a complete abortion. I don't think I could do that if I tried.

Hey, if nothing else, it's job security for people like us! :)

It's just too much of a shame that things like this can also cause property damage, as well as personal injury and, sadly, death.

Food for thought for every day you put on your pouch.

Anyone want to take a stab at the box fill calculation on this one? :)

Just for yucks... that looks to be a 4-11/16 x 1-1/2" = 29.5 in3

34 conductors @ 2 ea = 68 + 1 EGC (ha!) = 70 in3

Even if they are #12 (which I think that one at the top is if you look at the jacket printing very closely, we're still only at 87.5 in3

Just slap on two 1-1/2" extension rings and you are good to go.

What I'm dying to know about this picture though is how many circuits are there in this rat's nest? Other than some EGC's at the top, every wire nut appears to only have two wires under it...
