When installing outlet boxes how many different types are there? I am asking because we are missing a few arch drawings that we are waiting for. I don't have any partition schedules but someone else just told me to figure all the walls are gyp.( which has been the case in most of the estimates I have helped on). It is a pretty big job(150K sf). If I have different partions such as block wall, outside, etc. I would obviously need a masonary box. FS box and so on, right?

there are alot of differnt type of boxes. For commercial work I typically use 4" boxes with mudrings for drywall, and 4" boxes with raised covers for surface mount, masonary boxes for recessed in block, bell boxes for exterior surface mounted applications. there are also ocatagon, pancake, gangable, nail on, handi, and various boxes with brackets built onto them, maybe you should talk to your lead electrician and ask what they like to use for differnt applications.

The ones you linked to I only use for 3g+ boxes. Caddy H23 is the way to go IMO for 4sq. Much cheaper too.

I use those in tight areas sometimes, I just like the bars better myself, especially if Im installing a recept and data stub side by side, I can hit two boxes on one bracket, I can also get two boxes on one bracket when there are boxes on both sides of the wall in the same stud space. they also work out better on the demising walls, and exterior walls on pole buildings that dont have a sub siding close enough for the H23 to push against.
