Branch Circuit Question

Does the NEC prohibit a non-residential outside AC unit (condensing unit) 1 phase 240 and a metal halide wall luminaire from being on the same branch circuit protected from the same double-pole 20 amp breaker and using 12 awg wire? The AC unit will not exceed 50% of the branch circuit rating.

I think it would be okay. Except, it would effect the metal name plate listing for the breaker size.
