Re: BRANCH CIRCUIT

Hi Roger hows it going?

The question was how many circuits can a neutral serve not how it works.

If its a branch circuit in a panel the answer is 2 for single phase and 3 for three phase.

If its a panel its as many breakers as you can get in the panel. I'm sure there is exceptions on my last panel answer but you know what I mean.

Ronald :)

Re: BRANCH CIRCUIT

The situation I see in this thread is one of vocabulary, terms or definitions, whatever one wants to call it. As long as this thread keeps going it will be difficult to pin this down without agreeing on the definitions.
I see this as a good opportunity to address the 'definition' of some of the important terms being used here, then we can move ahead with this discussion where all will benefit.
I like the way this thread has been going, there are some very interesting posts, but it seems to have stumbled due to different interpretations. I am going to take a stab at some of the definitions, as pertain to the NEC. This may take me some time as I am working (Ha! Ha!).

Re: BRANCH CIRCUIT

Hey Ronald, everythings good here, how's everything on your end?

I would have to agree that the spirit of the question would probably be looking for "two" as an answer, but there is some wording missing in the question for this to be an "only" answer.
