Hi,
I don't want to flog a dead pony and didn?t really want to post a new thread on this subject but I?m new to this site and it seems that most of the existing threads on this topic are closed.
A link I found on the site gives a "HTTP 404 not found error"? http://www.eatonelectrical.com/unsecure/cms1/SA00304001E.PDF., so it must be old.

It would be great to finally be able to have something in writing to verify the statements below. It one of those things that I have heard for years but I can never seem to find any printed documentation. Does anybody know where I can find this in writing?

1] Regular BR breakers are okay to use in Bryant, Westinghouse, Zinsco, and Challenger.

2] Murray/Siemens/ITE is the direct replacement for Crouse-Hinds and Gould panels. :)

Someone posted a chart or a link a while back. Maybe someone can find it. With all of the company buyouts/mergers you'll need a score card to keep track.:rolleyes:

Thanks for the replies.
I have already tried using the UL site, but without all the manufacture and listing information, it is a lost cause. I will keep looking, as I know others have posted these same questions here and other places as well.

Thanks again

Kjay,

I guess that I haven't lost my touch in digging around the Eaton technical documents. I believe this is what you are looking for.

Check these documents out:

This on is a letter from UL:
http://www.eaton.com/ecm/idcplg?Idc...sed&Rendition=Primary&&dDocName=1016115403174

This one if a cross referrence for larger breakers:
http://www.eaton.com/ecm/idcplg?Idc...sed&Rendition=Primary&&dDocName=1060734795662

This document is a cross refference chart:
http://www.eaton.com/ecm/idcplg?Idc...sed&Rendition=Primary&&dDocName=1081453631966

Formerly working for both Eaton and Westinghouse I'm quite familiar with their means of filing their documents. They have recently revamped their website again and all of the links to the ducuments have changes.

Thanks templdl,
You must be part bloodhound to have sniffed those documents out of Eaton?s website. I gave up after several frustrating attempts.
One would think they would want people too be able to find this type of documentation easily, but apparently not.
Thanks again. Very much appreciated. :smile:

Yes, they keep burying them deeper and deeper.
I find it intriguing that a couple of the technical documents that I wrote for them when I was there are still on file.

Ive been lurking here quite a while but this will be my first post. I could'nt get to the pdfs that you listed.
Welp I assume that you need to upgrade. A free download of Adobe Reader, Version 8, but its for Windows XP.

Please pay attention: you only need to download just the PDF software.

I would NOT download a Google Tool bar that could be part of your download per this page!!!

I didn't search for older versions verses what software you might be using but they are avaiable.

When you can match brand. When you can't find em. Do what ya can.

Here that will not fly, the inspectors here will only allow the correct breakers to be used.

I got shot down for using the wrong brand breaker in a temp panel, had to get the 'correct' classified breakers ASAP.
