Is THHN an allowable method to wire the hot rail connections for a bridge crane having no more than 18" of wire exposed out of conduit in a dry location?

You mean open wires to the buss bars for the festoon cabling for the bridge correct.

I have seen this on almost every bridge crane I have seen.
How do you plan on transitioning from conduit to open wiring.
I think that some kind of fitting should be used and not just a conduit bushing.
Most I have seen were just a bushing though.

Inspector is wanting specs from crane manf. for type of wiring to connectors. I do not beleive this would be manf. issue but rather an nec issue. As for the bushing at the end of the pipe was thinking about a weatherhead but any other ideas would appricated
