As you know, there are dozens of TLDs like .org .net .info .cc even .aero but a .com is the easiest for people to remember.

As all the "good" .com names get gobbled up, what's left?
Wasn't there some chatter of .xxx domain names for "adult" sites?

Also, never get a domain with a hyphen in the name.
...and never put an underscore in email addess.

A employee once told me the last place he worked the slogan was.

"We may not be the best, but we are the most expensive"

My personal slogan, I use with my employees is.

"Who is the best electrician in Washington DC and why am I !"

Thank you thank you

Thank you thank you

Ok so if nothing else your comments were very entertaining! :D  ;)
But I really did like a few so Im going to give you all one more poll as I have another week till the van goes to the sign shop.
And yes I did know that Brightelectric.com was taken but almost every thing is. Everyone gobbles them up in hopes of a resale. I will use a variation for the area Im sure like brightelectricofsiouxfalls.com or something the shorter the better so that one is out but that will be a smaller problem. Ill decide on the new poll today and post it later.

Truly once again thanks for all the help and stimulating questions that get answered here its fun just to browse and read some nights. I?ve been doing this now for 15yrs and still I learn little tricks and tips daily.
Also yes my market is the dreaded residential one. Where profits are gone and I can do it cheaper than you. But I do a lot of larger homes and rewires were there is still good money: roll: relatively speaking. Especially the rewires I actually enjoy them and the profit margins are huge in comparison.

brightelectric.com is already taken.
However, brightelectricco.com is available.

fineelectric.com was taken (by a company in China) so I use fineelectricco.com

Answer the phone, return messages, do what you promised, and don't overcharge. All the other stuff; logos, fancy trucks, uniforms etc. is all just fluff and smokescreen.

uniforms etc. is all just fluff and smokescreen.

I pretty much agree on most of what you said, BUT if you are doing service work, IMO uniforms of some type, be it NEAT blue jeans with a company shirt at a minimum give an edge of professionalism, make your guys look better and the customers know who is wandering around their facility.

I'd bet money that the average customers would agree.

Absolutely. When someone opens the door, and they see a neat, clean person, wearing a uniform of some sort (even jeans and company t-shirt) and a clearly marked company truck, they feel a professional is there. Also, hopefully, they will feel comfortable enough to open the door for you! Some guy in ratty jeans and a beatup pick-up, is this guy who he says he is? Belive me, I used to be the guy in cut-offs and a unmarked van, and I was refused entry several times-no more!
