Being somewhat new to the hospital world, I was looking at a linear accelerator application the other day. I was told that any conduits leaving the room should upon exiting the world, a large radius 90 degree bend.
I wanted to know how large and why? I'm told that this is a precaution from radiation leaving the room. Evidently it doesn't turn corners especially gradual turns such as a large radium bend would provide as opposed to a sharp 90 degree turn that could be affected with an LB fitting?
I'd like to know more about this and would be interested in any feedback at all. Of particular concern is how large should large be for these sweeps?
Are there any standards on this? etc.
Thanks,
Mike
