Our insurance agent has been telling us that we are going to switch our WC to builders mutual. The rate will stay about the same but we can make our payments monthly and dont have to wait for the audit like we have been doing for years. although we always hold back th money monthly knowing that its comming. sometimes its hard to keep holding the money for a while, especially now when work is not comming in as fast. But the issue is this. we have a subscription to triangle business journal, which is our local business mag that has contract related disputes and lien cases from the area and every week there is at least ten cases of builders mutual suing some company for contract or neglagence or money owed. Some of these contractors are the ones that everyone has problems with but some are companies that I know do well and are in business and I am wondering whats going on with this and am a little weary about maybe signing on with something like wc that is crucial to our means of conducting business. I am kinda wondering why all the cases are in dispute.
