Building grounding

We have a job where the water lines in the building are corroded where the pipes are supported by galvinized saddles. (The pipe and the saddle do not make direct contact) We are sure it is because of current flow in the piping. What could you do to correct this and why would I have current flow at this point, is not the water piping there just to bring the building up to the same potential? Thanks for you help

How much voltage can you measure. It would not be unusal to have some amount of voltage flowing thru the plumbing pipes

1. Have you ever measured the current or attempted to measure the current, on the water pipes?
2. Have you checked all neutrals downstream from the neutral to ground bond at the main service or SDS's? Isolate and megger.
3. Have you performed a visual inspection looking for grounded neutrals downstream from the man service or SDS's?
4. Have you measured current on the neutral to ground bond jumper?

From my reading most cases of corrosion are related to chemical issues and/or VDC not VAC.
