Building own house...any tips?

Hello all,

I'm in the process of building a new house without a general contractor. I plan on installing the electrical distribution system myself.

While I have a background in electrical engineering from my Navy days, I am fishing for any tips you all might have to better my chances at passing the inspection.

Any high-level suggestions that are the most common problems? I'm looking through the FAQs now, but could use some advice.

Sorry TIA, but we cannot answer How-To questions. The best advice is to hire a professional contractor to guide you.
