Does this mean that Florida is now losing its status as a low tax state because of this housing mess?

Probably so.I am locked in and pay about $20 a year.If i sell it new owner pays about $2,000.
Many workers that rent likely will leave Florida.

Cavie, sorry to hear of your situation. I would guess that part of the attraction to inspecting would have been the (illusion of the) stable job.
