Hello everyone, I am having trouble finding an article that is clear ( in my opinion ) for this question.
We have a multiple building complex, each building has two services from the utility, you can walk from building to building without going outside. Each building has its own emergency/stand by generator. I am trying to find what prohibits or allows a circuit or feeder from one building to feed equipment in another. 230.2 may be the answer but I think that it could be stated better. This is not something we do but in preparing for an anticipated question from management I am finding it is not as direct as I would like.
Thanks and happy 4th

Jeff

And 225.30 for feeders which pretty much says the same thing. The harder question is how are your local authorities treating the buildings -- is each separate, or is it one big one. Or was it a bunch of separate ones that got interconnected by breezeways/walkways later in life and the services were never merged?

I agree that some part of this is a Building Dept. decision. If the two buildings even though they are connected have a fire rated construction between them they can be considered two buildings. I don't know about any interconnected wiring I would think that would be a violation
